Layla's Table Gather Circle is so delighted to offer this beautiful & sacred Cha Dao, tea ceremony, to honor the incoming Autumn Season.

Tea Ceremony

It is said that tea puts you in harmony with the natural world and all that is.

Cha Dao, or the Way of Tea, is an ancient practice that has been passed down through the ages. Tea was first used as a plant spirit medicine by Shamans and Daoists to open the heart, focus the mind, and lift the spirit in deep meditation. It is known as a Shen or Spirit tonic and has been called the emperor of all medicinal herbs.

When we gather and drink bowls together in ceremonial silence, we work with the elements as the energy of tea opens us up to a greater mindful awareness and connection. We find ourselves in a reflective journey through each bowl we share, ultimately bringing us back to ourselves, our shared humanity, back to the present moment and a vast stillness within.

Join us in Ceremony as a sanctuary where we can let the dust settle and connect deep within.

The Practical

  • We will join together in a welcoming space with introductions, then we will gather in silence for the Tea Ceremony.
  • You do not need any experience with Tea or Meditation, it is a very sweet place to come as a beginner and allow for the magic of a new experience to unfold.
  • Please dress comfortably in something you feel good in to sit on meditation cushions on the floor.
  • Shoes will be left at the door.
  • After the Tea Ceremony, there will be time for sharing our voices in community.
  • You will take home a gift of the tea we will be serving, as an offering for you to be able to connect back into the tranquility within.

This is a SPECIAL Layla's Table Gathering.

Spots are limited.

Cost: $50

Kristal Hill has been studying and practicing Cha Dao since 2018 when she first met and fell in love with the beauty, depth, and simplicity of the practice in Santa Fe NM while on retreat. Upon returning she started a daily Tea practice, and through the years of sitting with Tea, learning from fellow Chajin, and studying under the Global Tea Hut lineage, she slowly began serving her community in Ceremony. Kristal is a certified teacher in Buddhist Meditation, Yoga, and is a Reiki Master. She loves sharing the beauty and healing potential of these ancient practices as an offering to all beings.
