This weekend’s free tastings focus on wines that you can enjoy before, during and after Thanksgiving. Join us from 3-7pm on Friday and noon-4pm on Saturday to sample:

Bzikot Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs NV – Real white Burgundy Chardonnay from the Cote d’Or and Cote Chalonnaise that delivers generous fruit and buttered nut richness before finishing dry and easy.

Fontanavecchia Falanghina Taberno del Sannio 2022 - The most popular Falanghina in the shop ever is wildly delicious and stony in 2022 with salty minerality to burn. Excellent value, too!

Ch De Roquefort - Rolle Provence Blanc 'les Genets' 2023 - Lees-aged Vermentiono with intense white flower, peach and flint aromas and flavors of orange bitters, fresh peach and salt with a creamy, broad, texture. Fascinating.

Marcel Giraudon Bourgogne Rouge Chitry 2023 – The store's most popular Bourgogne Rouge ever is especially delicious in this final release of the vintage. As fresh and vibrant as ever but with a touch more richness. Outstanding Pinot Noir.

Ch La Croix Blanche - Bordeaux Rouge 2020 - New label for this old favorite value Bordeaux. The 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot gives the wine a fine structure and blackcurrant fruit (the Cab) and a plummy, round, mouthfeel (Merlot) with touches of cocoa and cedar (the grapes together and a kiss of wood).

With the wines, Jose is presenting an exciting new cheese: Ubriacone. In Italian it roughly translates as a “great big drunk,” the perfect name for a medium-soft cheese that’s not just doused with red wine: it’s actually laced with it through and through. The cheese is pierced like Gorganzola and then soaked in Veneto’s local Clinton and Raboso wines which trickle through the paste. Then it’s wrapped in grape leaves and allowed to age. A tiny bit crumbly, lightly nutty and definitively winey, it’s a great addition to any cheese board.

New cheese, great wines, very attractive savings – all good reasons to come by on Friday and Saturday and explore some delicious new flavors.
