Spiritus is welcoming Spring with one of our popular Grand Tasting events! This exclusive evening will pit the red wines of historic Burgundy against a lineup of Piedmont’s Barbaresco. Ten wines from each region will be open to sample.
“All roads lead to Burgundy.” Such is the saying among oenophiles, implying that after you spend years exploring the world’s diversity of wine styles and regions, you end up preferring the subtlety and delicacy of France’s famous Burgundy region. This progression may not hold true for everyone, but historic Burgundy continues to produce distinctive, world-class pinot noir. Our Grand Tasting will help you explore and discover what the fuss is all about.
The one region that is often cited as comparable to Burgundy in regard to distinct terroir expression of its vineyards is Piedmont, Italy. Here, Barolo and Barbaresco wines reign supreme among Italian reds thanks to their native grape varietal, nebbiolo. Our evening’s lineup of ten Barbaresco’s from exceptional vintages will reveal the quality that these sub-alpine hills can produce.
