What a great set of spring into summer wines we have on the tasting table this Friday! From an everyday “refrigerator white” (and its more elevated sibling) to crunchy, fresh, rosé to gutsy Sangiovese and even an elegant – but cookout-friendly – red Burgundy, there’s something to delight every palate open to taste this Friday from 3-7pm.
Za Za Garnacha Rosé 2024 – 100% Garnacha loaded with crunch berry fruit, feels round and big on your palate, and then finishes tangy, dry and gluggable.
Picollo Ernesto Gavi DOCG 2024 – Just about the perfect refrigerator white – the wine to have chilled and ready to sip and share at a moment’s notice.
Piccolo Ernesto Gavi di Gavi DOCG 2024 – From the heart of Gavi, this adds a sleek, flowing texture and a touch more fruit to the “regular” Gavi’s zip and zing.
Ch de Garnerot Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise Terres de Garnerot 2022 – Such a delicious glass of Pinot Noir that you may gulp it all down before you notice how much Burgundian complexity it delivers too!
Gracciano della Seta Rosso di Montepulciano 2022 – Sangiovese from the Tuscan Montepulciano region, this is dark, full of black cherry fruit and has a lovely violet perfume before finishing smooth and easy.
With the wines, try Jose’s latest cheese find: Brabander Goat Gouda. It’s from southern Holland and starts with the best goat milk and is aged just 6-9 months (quite short for Gouda). There’s a fantastic creamy feel to the paste and deep flavors of nut, caramel, hay and just a touch of gaminess. Melts beautifully and delightful for snacking. Like this Friday’s wines, a taste you won’t want to miss.
