Thunderbird Artists, the leading producer of fine art events in the Southwest, is eager to announce their first festival of the 2024/2025
season and the return of the Fall Waterfront Fine Art & Wine Festival, October 25th, 26th & 27th, 2024. The event will host more than 100 juried fine artists, and include wine tasting, spirit sampling, ice cold micro-brews, live music and so much more!
Glass Sculptor and designer, Michael George, is the featured artist for this first show of the season. Michael is known for his breathtaking, intricate, and delicate creations. With a passion for pushing the boundaries of glass art, George has developed a unique style that blends traditional techniques with modern innovation. His work explores the relationship between form, texture, and light, resulting in mesmerizing pieces that seem to defy gravity.
Michael has been a full-time artist since 1992 and has honed his art to a level of excellence matched by few. One of the attributes of having years of experience as a self-taught artist, Michael believes that “art mirrors life without boundaries.” His pieces delve into the world of abstract glass art, inviting viewers to experience the beauty and fragility of glass in a new light. From delicate, lace-like sculptures to vibrant, geometric vessels, George's work is a testament to the versatility and expressiveness of glass.
In addition to the gorgeous pieces created by Michael George, the festival promises to be a spectacular celebration of fine wine, with one of the largest wine tasting events in the Southwest. For $15, patrons will receive an engraved souvenir wine glass and tasting tickets, providing a unique opportunity to sample an extensive collection of domestic and imported wines, spirits and microbrews.
Attendees immensely enjoy listening to live musical performances while they sip, stroll and shop. The festival will take place on the pedestrian walkway of the Scottsdale Waterfront and Southbridge, next to Nordstrom’s and Olive & Ivy. The hours are 10am to 5pm all three days. Admission is $5.00 and parking is free. The Scottsdale trolley is also available, as a complimentary service, and runs every 15 minutes from 11am to 6pm and stops in Old Town, Main Street District, Marshall Way District, Fifth Avenue Shops, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Waterfront and Southbridge.
