Nothing says summer like sipping a nice glass of rosé outside in the summer heat. PWS has the rosés that will be perfect to enjoy during those dog days of August.
Join us on Friday evening, August 9th, 7 p.m., at the Hilton Harrisburg for a tasting of rosés paired with small plates prepared by the Hilton chefs and topped off with a mini-cheesecake from SweeTreats Bakery.
The event will be in the Hilton United States Boardroom on the third floor which includes balconies, permitting attendees to enjoy the wines and food inside or outside (assuming the weather cooperates).
Board members have been tasting rosés from various regions to find those unique and well-crafted wines that our wine society members will love.
So far, we have an award-winning rose from the Finger Lakes blended from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Blaufränkish, a 90-point Spanish grenache-based rosé, a lush Cabernet Sauvignon rosé from South Africa, an aromatic rosé crafted from Oregon’s classic grape, Pinot Noir, and a fruit-forward Italian rosé.
While we’re still winnowing down the final selections from the many stellar rosés available, we expect to add a sparkling rosé, as well as another still rosé from Europe, and a highly rated new Decanter award winner from Pennsylvania.
You will be amazed at the variety this “simple” wine style displays through these wines. We’re pairing the wines with a starter plate starring brie followed by a smoked trout plate and then a barbecue pork rib small plate. We’ll finish it off with the SweeTreats mini-cheesecake.
Each food offering will complement the wines that we are tasting. You will not be disappointed!
