If you have never had mofongo, you are missing out! Mofongo is a staple Puerto Rican dish, made of fried plantains, that are mashed and then mixed with garlic, butter and "chicharrón" (crispy pork skin). Simply delicious! During this class we will be doing one of the dishes I loved the most and that brings amazing memories with the family during Sunday dinners. We will be learning how to work with plantains and learning how to use a wooden mortar or "pilón" to smash the plantains, the traditional way! We will prepare shrimp in a garlic sauce to serve with the mofongo.
