Like butter and bread to American's, jeows and sticky rice are a meal-time staple in Laotian households. A combination of aromatics, spices, vegetables, and even proteins, jeows are endlessly versatile and can be crafted to fit any taste profile.
In this class, Chef Ann will lead a jeow making demonstration, describing its versatility and uses, as well as common jeow ingredients and combinations. After the demonstration, participants will be invited to make two different jeows to jar and take home.
The following jeow options will be available to make:
Roasted Tomato, Roasted Eggplant, Roasted Mushrooms, and Crispy Fried Fish.
After participants make their jeows, a small meal of sticky rice, jeows, chicken skewers, Laotian beef jerky, and dessert will be served.
