Meet our Chef:
Chef Daniel Walker found inspiration early in his grandmother's kitchen and garden; Learning basics of food preservation from the years harvest as well as the commutatuve and transportive power of food. He learned on the job cutting his teeth while working for one of the key figures in the slow food movement here in the US, Chef Lidia Bastianich. Daniel worked up the ranks of her culinary empire starting here in KC, and eventually moving to New York to work as her Sous Chef at the now Famous mid-town restaurant Felidia. Danile also spent time as one of Lidia's executive Chefs working in Boston and in Pittsburgh. Daniel has now brought his talents and passion for local food communities and cultures to Colonial Gardens, as the Chef and Market Manager.
