Chao Baan, the authentic Thai restaurant located in the Grove, is hosting its annual Dumpling Dinner with local AANHPI chefs and restaurant owners to celebrate National Dumpling Day on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 5 – 8 p.m. Look forward to delicious dumplings made by chefs from Nudo House, Mai Lee, Corner 17, Saucy Porka, and Lona’s Lil Eats.

The dinner includes starters and signature dishes from Chao Baan including Khao Tod Nam Sod, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Tom Yum Soup, and a variety of dumplings prepared by some of St. Louis’ most prominent chefs.

5 - 6 p.m. - Cocktail Hour in Chao Baan's bar area. A signature cocktail will be featured throughout the evening, with $1 per cocktail sold during the cocktail hour being donated to the OCA St. Louis Chapter, to support its mission in championing the AANHPI community and serving as the connector to many, including government, institutions, businesses, and other cultural organizations.

6-8 p.m. – Dumpling Dinner | The below chefs and restaurant owners are participating with their own unique takes on dumplings. Each chef will prepare two varieties of dumplings, so guests will get to enjoy a total of eight chef-made dumplings throughout the evening

Board President of OCA St. Louis, Peter Tao, will host a panel discussion during the evening with the participants. The panel will cover topics including growing up Asian American in St. Louis and how to make St. Louis a more inclusive city.

Chao Baan will be closed to the public on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to make this experience exclusive to ticketed guests.
