If you don't know much about Bordeaux - or, worse, think that big names and big money is what it's all about - join us for a deliciously illuminating exploration of the kind of Bordeaux we love most. Meaning wines full of flavor, history and a distinct sense of place that deliver plenty of delight, but do it without shouting or banging you over the head with overwhelming intensity. And bring you plenty of joy now and later (if you like to wait) at bargain prices to boot.

Our second Bordeaux class of the fall looks out over the home of the most famous and collectible wines of the region: Bordeaux's Left Bank on the west side if the Gironde river and a bit inland from the Atlantic Ocean. You'll learn a bit about why the "big names" get the big bucks on release and at auction as they mature even though this is hardly prime vineyard land - much of the Medoc was a swamp until the Dutch drained it for English merchants in the late 1600s!

More deliciously, you'll learn about small family estates and passionate newcomers alike are opting out of the hype market and using sustainable farming and honest winemaking to craft dry white and red wines you'll love drinking with all kinds of food and friends. And sell those wines for prices you can actually afford.

The class covers seven wines and takes place on Thursday, October 7 at 7pm in our downstairs classroom. As always, we’ll serve up some wine-friendly nibbles and loads of great information about Bordeaux grapes, people and places that make Bordeaux so special. $45 per person and open to register right now!
