Did you know that it was a group of determined, resourceful and super badass women who helped forge the Champagne industry and turn it into the world renown, prestigious industry it is today?
In this class we'll tell the unbelievable stories of the women in the 19th and 20th centuries who founded one of the most famous and successful industries in the world: Champagne. We'll tell the stories of Madame Clicquot, Lily Bollinger, Louise Pommery, Camille Roederer, and Emilie Laurent-Perrier.
The class is best when paired with real Champagne (bonus if it's Veuve Clicquot or one of the brands above!) or any other lady-made bubbly. For this evenings fun, we'll enjoy, Spirit Horse Vineyards' Goddess Reserve Blanc de Noirs poured by owner Heather Rader).
20% of all wine sales from the evening will go towards the NWFW Fly Girl Scholarship, to support women of ambition to become the next generation of leaders in the wine industry.
The scholarship is named for Hazel Lee, who was the first Chinese American woman to be a fighter pilot in WW2. A Portland native, she was fearless and broke barriers in her industry. Gather your Badass Fly Girls and let's raise a glass together to honor the Fly Girls of Champagne from the past and support the ones in our future.
