Surrounded by houseplants (including one to take home), indulge in a cozy night pairing the best seasonal wines with artisanal cheeses.

On the sweetest corner in Williamsburg, join owner of Perennials and sommelier Alison with Certified Cheese Professional and founder of Trust Your Taste Anne-Marie Pietersma in an evening of wine, cheese, and plants.

This unique hands-on class begins with selecting your own plant and 4" vessel to pot and take home. Alison will go over how to correctly pot and re-pot plants, how the change in seasons affects the care of your house plants, and how to choose the right plants for your home and lifestyle.

Your newfound potting skills will then be rewarded as you sit back and taste four wines, and four artisanal cheeses. Alison and Anne-Marie will go over what is so special about each wine and cheese, pairing principles, and how to learn what you like (and don't like).

What your ticket includes:

  • 4 wines
  • 4 cheeses
  • Accoutrements for pairing and palate cleansing (bread, olives, and some seasonal treats)
  • Plant potting instruction
  • A take home plant and 4" pot of your choice (valued at $40 minimum)
  • 30+ years of collective expertise in wine and cheese
  • 1.5 hour tasting
  • Expert plant advice
  • A dreamy fall evening

About your hosts:

Alison Robbins is the heart and soul behind Perennials Greens & Goods. With a background in landscape architecture, she's curated a unique plant haven in Brooklyn that's all about accessible greenery and unique finds. Combined with her 20 years spent in wine and hospitality, Alison has a unique gift for identifying all the elements that can help someone feel good in a space...and wine and plants are certainly two of those.

Anne-Marie Pietersma is a professional storyteller and Certified Cheese Professional (ACS CCP) who believes cheese is an edible story. Beyond being delicious, she uses cheese as a vehicle for fun, nourishment, and self-reflection in workshops, events, and classes. She founded Trust Your Taste to create a fun and creative environment to explore the relationship between food, story, and ourselves (spoiler- they all intersect all the time!)

As a theatre kid who grew up in a dairy farming family, you can always find her at the intersection of arts and agriculture.
