Aleksander Estate, the newest Paso Robles star, is rooted on a belief that a family’s bond is the strongest bond of all. Their journey began in Slovenia, a country recognized for distinct wines of all kinds. In search of better opportunities for their family, together Gornan and his wife Ksenija left Slovenia and moved to Friuli Venezia Giulia where a passion for winemaking was ignited as they were inspired to take full advantage of living in a new incredible wine region. That passion never left them as the budding professional basketball career of son Aleksander ‘Sasha’ eventually moved the family out to California.
In 2009, while Sasha Vujacic was helping the Lakers to what would become a championship season, his father Goran, mother Ksenija and brother Aljoša focused their time on finding the perfect piece of land for their family winery. With soil like Bordeaux and sunshine like Napa, they found S&G Estate in Paso Robles. The 2012 Aleksander Reserve Red is far more than a world-class Bordeaux blend- it is the result of a family’s promise to make something truly spectacular.
