Featured Wines

Contarini Gran Cuvee Blanc de Noir NV

Our company is surrounded by the stunning Venetian territory, in the north-east of Italy. A famous land thanks to its historical roots and its rich artistic heritage. Pinot Noir sparkling wine with a light cherry red color. Fruity aromas with a beautiful soft and delicate mouth feel. Very pleasant with fine and persistent perlage.

Magnolia Colline Pescaresi Pecorino, ’22

Hand-harvested grapes result in explosive flavors of ripe pears, apple and jasmine accompanied by gentle and refreshing acidity. A dry white wine with a brilliant pale straw color. A variety that has been enjoyed in Italy for centuries but that you seldom see outside of Italy. This wine pairs well with Chinese food, its great with dumplings, noodles and fried rice dishes. Abruzzo

Poggio Del Moro Chianti Nu, ’20

"Nu" is 100% Sangiovese sourced from the mostly sandy soils of the Mezzogiomo and Mattina vineyards, located at 350 meters of elevation in the hills of Tuscany. The wine sees no new oak to preserve the purity of the fruit and to emphasize the terroir.

Poggio del Moro Toscana Rosso, ’16

Blend of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 25% Syrah, 25% Sangiovese. Violet floral notes with cherry and plum jam, along with the mineral graphite, musk, and a hint of black pepper. Fresh, ripe juicy flavors wrapped into plum tannins. Tobacco, tea leaves, and black cherry linger on a powerful, yet harmonious finish. Tasting Panel, 93 pts

I Lauri Pinciaie, ’20

This single-vineyard Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is vinified in stainless steel vats and then aged in small French oak barrels for 12 months. Subsequently, the wine bottle rests at least 12 months to reach its optimum balance. Dark ruby-red with violet undertones. Complex wild berry notes framed by elegant oak spices. A blockbuster red displaying fine notes of cherry and currents, finely integrated by oak spices, coffee and vanilla.

Mauro Molino Barolo, ’20

Pretty aromas of strawberries and dark red fruits followed by licorice, fresh mint and crushed stones. Fresh and bright on the palate with red berries, floral notes, and a gorgeous polished texture.

Professional Ratings

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 93 pts

The Mauro Molino 2020 Barolo exhibits a lean and silky character with aromas that build in intensity with time. They include underripe cherry, apricot and evenly dispensed oak that is not intrusive. Dried leaves and licorice give the wine an autumnal vibe, and the tannins remain slightly sweet and powdery.

James Suckling, 92 pts

Spiced and racy Barolo with ripe red berries, spices, sandalwood and hints of white pepper. Medium-bodied with a dusty texture to its tannins and vivid acidity. Textural and polished, with citrus peel character at the end. Already attractive to drink, but better after two to three years.

Wine Enthusiast, 91 pts

Refreshing and lively, bursting with the scent of fresh strawberries and an array of enchanting floral notes that contribute to its beauty. Incredibly vibrant and fresh, with a palate that immediately induces salivation. The balance achieved between the sour and tart red fruits and the herbal undertones is remarkable, giving the wine an overall prettiness and elegance with supple tannins and sweet spices on the finish.

Vinous, 90 pts

Molino’s 2020 Barolo is a very pretty, classy entry-level offering. Macerated red cherry, orange peel, cinnamon, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco inform this aromatic, mid-weight Barolo. All the elements are nicely balanced throughout. Vineyard sources are Annunziata, Berri and Perno. The 2020 is a real charmer.

Maso Maroni Veneto Bianco Fiore ’22

100% Garganega. Straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet reveals aromas of apple, pear and pleasant mineral notes. When tasted it is well balanced, fine and elegant and easy to drink. Located in a hilly position with southern exposure, highly calcareous clay soil.

The plants are in Gujot with a density of 4000 vines per hectare. The grapes are vinified with soft pressing. Once fermentation is finished, the wine is aged for 7 months in steel.

Romanelli Colli Martani Grechetto Fonte Perna ’22

Intense straw yellow to the eye. The nose expresses all the typicality of the varietal with floral and fruity notes reminiscent of hawthorn, citron and yellow peach. A slight minerality anticipates a fresh, full-bodied sip with good structure and excellent persistence. Always considered the most traditional of the area’s whites, Colli Martani Grechetto DOC is a wine of particular depth, capable of combining structure and momentum with great charm. After the harvest, it is vinified and is left to mature for a short time in steel tanks in order to preserve its natural flavor. After that, it rests in the bottle another 2 months before being marketed.

Romanelli Capo de Casa Montefalco Rosso, ’19

The wine is bright ruby red to the eye. The nose expresses tones reminiscent of red fruit-cherry and blackberry-and a slight spiciness, characteristics enhanced by a barely vegetal note. It is a wine as structured as fine, always fresh, vital and with excellent persistence. A wine that is made from a blend of Sangiovese with a small proportion of other varieties typical of the area, all grapes coming exclusively from our Colle San Clemente vineyards. Vinification takes place in steel and maturation in different types of jars, depending on the vineyard of origin, for at least 18 months.

Rizzi Barbaresco Rizzi, ’20

It’s the emblem of the winery, the way through which the estate’s style shows itself, costantly looking for elegance and purity. It comes from the grapes harvested from the Rizzi Cru, which is a large vineyard varying in different altitudes, exposures and soils. This is a classical Barbaresco; notes of fresh fruit and underbrush coexist, giving it imminence and longevity. Deep garnet with orange reflections. Fragrant and crisp, with hints of red fruits and flavours of berries, and herbs, together with floral and spicy notes. Great texture and tannic structure on the palate, with a nice sweetness, delicacy, and elegance, as well as fine tannins and a persistent finish.

Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara Piria, ’23

The nose of this stunning frizzante reveals a distinct interplay between fresh bay leaf, thyme, and crushed cherries, delicately sprinkled with rose petals. On the palate, it offers a mouthwatering mix of freshly chopped raspberries, green herbs, and a hint of white pepper, accompanied by subtle gamy notes. 70% Lambrusco Sorbara and 30% Lambrusco Salamino.

Suavia Soave Classico, ’23

From Veneto, “Inviting aromas of ripe peach, fresh herbs, crushed stones, and notes of jasmine all swirl together like a perfect garden in the glass. On the palate, the wine is zingy, offering a delightful interplay between citrus and stone-fruit flavors. The mouthwatering acidity and solid mineral finish show this Soave to be worthy of drinking today or stashing away for a number of years.” Jeff Porter

Zenato Bardolino Chiaretto Rose, ’23

The 2023 Chiaretto is everything I want out of a quaffing Rose: bright fruit, tart acidity, a little bit of zip and just enough complexity to engage the senses. Offering notes of raspberries and blackcurrants with grassy undertones that are mirrored harmoniously in the mouth. On the palate, it is delicate and balanced with structured acidity and a lingering sweet almond finish.

Zenato Alanera Rosso Veronese, ’20

Blend of 70% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Corvinone, 10% Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. Brilliant ruby in color, Alanera delights the senses with a variety of aromas and flavors that include fresh and dried cherries and prunes, sweet spice, and hints of coffee and tobacco. On the palate, Alanera is full-bodied with elegant and velvety tannins. Vibrant acidity brings balance and freshness, and supports a long and harmonious finish.

Wine Enthusiast, 90 pts

The wine has an intense nose of black, blue and red fruits with dried leaves, roasted coffee and baking spices all dancing together on the nose. The palate is lush with a deeper core of black plum, dark chocolate and savory herbs, finishing with fine tannins and a pop of acidity. Best Buy

Bindi Sergardi Chianti Tenuta I Colli La Boncia, ’22

A bright and fragrant 100% Sangiovese produced from grapes sourced from vines 10- to 15-years of age in La Boncia Vineyard in the Tuscany wine region. Fragrant with rose petal, red berry and cherry fruit flavors and fresh on the palate with a lingering spicy and savory herb finish, it's a perfect pairing for a meaty pasta and rich tomato sauce dish.

Capanna Rosso di Montalcino, ’21 vintage

Capanna, an illustrious winery in Italy, has been under the stewardship of the Cencioni family since 1957. Located in the Montosoli area north of Montalcino, Capanna was founded by Giuseppe Cencioni, and with help of his sons Benito and Franco, became one of the first farms established in the modern period of Brunello.

A deep ruby red that’s fresh, showing red fruit and hints of vanilla with good palate drive. Made with 100% Sangiovese, the juice is allowed to macerate on skins for 15-18 days and fermented at a controlled temperature followed by spontaneous MLF (malolactic fermentation), both stages in cone-shaped Slavonian oak casks. The wine is then racked off into Slavonian oak casks for a period of around 6-10 months prior to being bottle-aged for at least three months.

Indigenous Prosecco Brut Rosé DOC

A bright and lustrous powder pink Prosecco Rosé with delicate notes of roses and small red fruits that open to tropical aromas of litchi and papaya. In the mouth, the wine is harmonious and fresh, enhanced by a subtle, persistent perlage. This easy-drinking wine is delicate and elegant, yet crisp and fresh, with an enveloping and fruity, long-lasting finish. Ideal as an aperitif, but also a perfect accompaniment to a meal.

Enzo Boglietti Langhe Chardonnay, ’22

This Boglietti bottling is an excellent example of Chardonnay from the Piemonte of Italy. From a site in La Morra with limestone, silt and sandy soils, the fruit is fermented with Indigenous yeasts, followed by 6 months maturation in steel (80%) and neutral oak (20%). Nuanced, with penetrating aromas and notes of white flowers, pear and slate. The excellent acidity provides lift and brightness. The wine is mouth filling with a bracing purity of fruit.

Podere Barbi Umbria Ciliegiolo, ’22

100% Ciliegiolo, intense, pleasant and fruity aromas characterized by a strong cherry scent and a fragrant bouquet of red fruit. The fermentation develops spontaneously in stainless steel vats, with no yeasts added, the maceration on the skins lasted about 14 days. Round, rich and soft–goes very well with cold cuts, first courses with meat sauces and roasted white meat dishes.

Fratelli Revello Barbera d’Alba, ’21

Revello Farms, run by the brothers Carlo and Lorenzo, is located in frazione Annunziata in the commune of La Morra. In the estate vineyards Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo and Barolo are produced. Vineyards are taken care of by hand, as well as the harvest, according to the old tradition (pruning in July, harvest between 15 of September and 15 of October). Ruby red color with purple reflections. Intense aromas with violet and graphite notes. Ripe, rich, silky Barbera with crushed berries and a velvety texture. Piedmont

E. Pira & Figli Langhe Nebbiolo, ’20

This wine is a youthful expression of Nebbiolo, the same grape variety that makes up the region’s most famous wine, Barolo. Some of the younger vines from the Ravera vineyard in Monforte d’Alba are used to produce this Nebbiolo d’Alba. The unique characteristics of this particular parcel of vineyard and terroir are best expressed when the wine is aged in small oak barrels, resulting in a kinder, more delicate wine – a perfect balance between elegance and structure. Elegant perfumes of red fruit on the nose give way to dry, velvety tannins on the palate.

Jeb Dunnuck, 92 pts

Pouring a more translucent color, the 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo includes 30% of the rosé clone, which Chiara Boschis vinified separately so the color is significantly more pigmented. There is also a gorgeous perfume in this wine that is far more expressive than a normal Rosso, revealing notes of fresh roses, raspberry, and orange peel. Elegant and long on the palate, it has fine tannins and a long finish. I will be looking to snap these up, as they are a great value and a great entry before diving into the Barolos. Drink over the next 5-8 years. Rating: 92+.

Terre dei Buth Frizzante Special Cuvee Bianco

This Frizzante Bianco is obtained from Glera. This is the semi sparkling frizzante style and it opens with a gentle effervescence. Elegantly fruity aromas with notes of white flowers. It is fresh and fruity on the palate with apple and pear fruit. The soft fizz makes this so very easy to drink.

Poggio Anima Uriel Grillo Sicilia IGT, ’23

Golden straw color with bright yellow hues. The aromas creep from the glass with white peaches and white plums combined with scents of wildflowers and a hint of mango. There is a breadth to the weight on the palate retaining freshness though and not showing the wear & tear of the vintage. It is well-balanced and medium-bodied with a soft palate, fresh mineral notes and tropical fruit characters and a very high-toned, fresh finish.

Gatto Arancio Marche White Wine, ’22

30 ha of north-eastern exposed vines at around 300m altitude. Hand harvested. De-stemmed and whole bunches undergo a natural fermentation in vat. Whole bunch portion left in contact with skin for 5 days, creating a sort of ‘infusion’ to extract flavor and aroma yet minimize tannin. No additions other than minimal SO2 at bottling. Unfiltered. Marche

Bright notes of kiwi, tangerine, and kumquat burst onto your palate first. Soft minerality leads to delicate tannins which dry up the tastebuds just a touch. More kumquat and orange zest notes fruit on the finish. Made with 100% Verdicchio, this is a great example of what adding skins can do to a wine.

Masseria Cuturi 1881 Puglia Negroamaro Zacinto, ’21

100% Negroamaro. Masseria Cuturi 1881 is an old Puglian estate that now lies in the hands of the Veneto producer, Camilla Rossi Chauvenet. The family acquired Cuturi 1881 a number of years back and have invested heavily in the property focusing on quality. Cuturi 1881 produces a delicious fruit-forward Negromaro that is laced with violet, sour cherries, raspberries and spice. It really has such appeal! Robin Kick MW says “Negromaro is one of the most exciting grapes from southern Italy and is known for its “crunchy” side, capable of making some of the zestiest rosé but also delicious reds.”

Tenuta di Sesta Brunello di Montalcino, ’18

Since 1995 the winery has been managed by Giovanni Ciacci, who has since been joined by his children Andrea and Francesca in the areas of business and agronomic management. For the Ciacci family, traditional ageing in big oak barrels and renewed vineyard management based on climatic changes and in favor of the territory constitute the best strategy to obtain wines that best express the territory of Montalcino. Elegant, rich in aromas of dried red fruits, spicy in notes of licorice and tobacco. Dry, soft with velvet tannins, balanced, very intense, and persistent finish. Manual harvest. 25 day maceration period. alcoholic and malolatic fermentations take place in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks. Wine ages for 2.5 – 3 years in 30-35 hl Slavonian oak barrels. The wine ages an additional 12 months in bottle before release. 2018 – 92+ Jeb Dunnuck | 93 James Suckling | 93 Vinous | 93 Wine Advocate | 94 Wine Enthusiast
