$799 – Includes interactive online theory sessions, in-person guided sake tasting at the Capital Wine School, instruction by a WSET certified Sake instructor, the Level 2 Sake workbook and textbook, the final exam, and mailing of certificates of achievement to addresses in the U.S.

WSET’s new Level 2 Award in Sake is intended for anyone wishing to learn about the different styles of sake and how they are made, as well as those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake. However, there are no entry requirements for this qualification.

The course focuses on how the ingredients used by brewers are processed and combined to create the many different styles of sake. It will also teach you how to describe and assess the quality of the sakes you taste. If you are a sake or hospitality professional, you’ll be able to offer valuable guidance on selection and service to your colleagues and customers. If you are a sake enthusiast, you’ll know exactly what to look for when choosing sakes for any occasion.

The course will include 3 zoom sessions (each 2 hours in length covering theory) and 1 day in-person to do in-depth sake tasting, theory review, and complete the exam. It is a closed-book exam of 50 multiple choice questions in 60 minutes. Upon successful completion of the exam, students will be awarded the WSET Level 2 Award in Sake.

Study packs will be mailed via USPS Priority Mail to arrive in time for the first zoom session.

Zoom Theory Sessions:

In-person Tasting & Theory Review Session with Exam at the Capital Wine School

Sunday September 15: 9am to 5pm

Classroom time + exam:

14 GLH (6 hours on zoom and 7 hours of tasting and theory review and 1 hour for the exam)

50 multiple choice questions to be completed in 1 hour
