I will walk everyone through the Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine as we taste through a single wine varietal together: Merlot. We'll discuss how you use your sense of sight, smell, taste and brain to assess a wine. This is intended for novices. We won't be talking hard-core about the varietal but more about the process and our individual experiences of taste and perception.

Upon registering for the event, I will send you a link to join via Google Meet. Please click the link to join at the day and time mentioned here with a Merlot of your choosing!

About the host: My name is Elissa and I love learning, creating community and making friends through wine! I have a tech job in the Bay Area and I have my WSET Level 2 award in Wines. I previously was partnering with wineries in Napa and Sonoma to offer in person wine country visits to friends, family, colleagues. Since March 2020, I've pivoted from in-real-life wine tasting trips to virtual tasting. I share my knowledge with others through a series of educational tasting events such as: Introduction to Wine Tasting, Systematic Approach to Tasting, Bubbles & Brie (history and making of sparkling wine), and a new topic on fortified and sweet wines! Lately, I've also been facilitating virtual tastings that feature wines from a specific winery. Since sheltering in place, it's hard for us to get out to wine country and find all the great wines. It's also hard for smaller wineries to get exposure to new clients, and they need our support. That's where I come in! I'm scouting for exciting wines for you to try and arranging to bring them to your doorstep at a discount. I don't do this for profit but for fun and to connect people.
