Online Class Premier Host
Cost: $115.00
After returning from Barolo and Barbaresco on November 16, Michael Franz will also return from a nearly two-year sabbatical from Capital Wine School to offer a tasting on 11/23 of some of the most exemplary wines from these two fabulous appellations released during recent years. These are usually pricey bottles, yet top producers from Barbaresco and Barolo are turning out wines that easily rival leading red Burgundies from Côte d’Or in complexity, versatility with food, and age-worthiness—but in many instances at less than half the price of their French counterparts. All twelve wines will be Nebbiolo-based reds from these two appellations, with no whites or less expensive bottlings such as Nebbiolo d’Alba, Barbera, or Dolcetto, so this will be a high-value tasting. The wines will span multiple vintages to show the potential magnificence of Barolo and Barbaresco at different stages of development, with a few reasonably affordable examples as well as some big-ticket, superstar wines.
Participants my choose to attend in person at the Capital Wine School or online via Zoom (please note that the in person spots are sold out). Online participants may pick their samples up at the Capital Wine School between 12pm – 5pm on November 22, or may request shipping for an additional fee.
Important: Any requests for shipping must be received at least 7 days prior to class, and all registrations for virtual attendance must be received by close of business the Monday prior to the class.
Additional information regarding curbside pickups will be emailed a day or two prior to class.
