Saturday, June 22 - Leave the USA on an overnight flight to Madrid

Sunday, June 23 - Transfer on your own to Hotel Riu Plaza Espana, your day is free to rest or explore.

Welcome dinner: Gather in the lobby at 6:45 pm this evening for a welcome dinner to meet your hosts and fellow travelers.

Monday, June 24 - After your included breakfast we will meet in the lobby at 10:30 AM for a walking food tour and wine tasting ending at Madrid & Darracott.

Tuesday, June 25 - LEAVE FOR SAN SEBASTIAN Enjoy an early included breakfast and meet in the lobby.

• 9 AM departure.
• At 11 AM we will arrive at Bodegas Portia Winery (Ribera del Duero) for wine tasting.
• Then a short 45-minute drive to the town of Burgos where you have time to explore and have lunch on your own.
• At 4 PM The bus leaves Burgos for the Barceló Costa Vasca in San Sebastian.

Wednesday, June 26 

• After an included breakfast we will depart the hotel at 10 AM for the 30-minute drive to the famous Katxina Winery for tastings and lunch.
• We will arrive back at our hotel at about 2 PM. The afternoon is for exploring. You can join Debi for a walk to the Funicular, the ride is $15.00, followed by a 30-minute walk down the promenade to Old Town to try the Best Cheesecake from La Vina. 
• There are 7 wonderful restaurants within 10 minutes walking from the hotel.

Thursday, June 27th - LEAVE FOR HARO Enjoy an early included breakfast, and meet the coach at 8:45 AM for a 2 1/2 hour drive. Arrive at Bogega Finca Valpiedra Winery at 11 AM for a tour and tastings.

• At 1 PM we will drive 20 minutes to visit one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, Laguardia, where you can explore and have lunch on your own until 3:30 PM.

Then it is a short 35-minute drive to your hotel in Haro the Eurostars Los Agostinos.

Friday, June 28th

• After your included breakfast we will meet the coach at 9:45 am for an 8-minute drive to Bodegas Roda Winery for "The Wine in its Landscape Tour" which includes commented tasting of their wines; Bodegas Roda Sela in the vineyard and that of Roda, as well as the extra virgin olive oils Aubocassa and L'Amo Aubocassa in the cellar.
• Afterward, we will walk across the road to Bodegas La Rioja Alta Winery for additional wine tasting.

​The bus will return to the hotel at 2 PM where you are free to explore and have lunch and dinner on your own

Saturday, June 29

• FREE DAY ON YOUR OWN

Today is the Haro Wine Festival "Battala del Vino".  You are welcome to participate in the battle or simply await the return of the combatants to Haro in the late morning for celebrations throughout the city.

Sunday, June 30 - LEAVE FOR LEON Enjoy your included breakfast. Meet the bus at 10 AM for an 8-minute drive to visit the Vivanco Wine Museum and Winery for tastings and lunch.

• ​The bus leaves at 3 PM for a 3-hour drive to Leon and the NH Collection Leon Plaza Mayor.

Monday, July 1 

• FREE DAY ON YOUR OWN  

There is so much to see in Leon:

• Cathedral which is a UNESCO site building began in 1243 and finished in 1747.
• Barrio Humedo-Mediaeval Quarter of the city is famous for its "free tapas" when you order a drink.
• Camino de Santiago – The Way of St. James runs through the city of Leon. This is the famous pilgrimage route from France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain where the remains of Apostle James are buried.
• Plaza San Martin- Spanish atmosphere, nice colored homes, cafes, and restaurants.

Tuesday, July 2nd - LEAVE FOR PORTO Enjoy your included breakfast. Meet the bus at 9 AM for a 3 1/4-hour drive to Portugal. We will stop at the Quinta de Valbom Winery for tastings and lunch.

• Then a 1 3/4 hour drive to Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira.

Wednesday, July 3rd

•  After your included breakfast we will leave the hotel at 10:30 AM for a 20-minute walk to the Calem Port House.
• A 5-minute walk will take you to the World of Wine cultural center.
• A 6-minute walk will take you to Quinta do Noval Port House.
• The rest of your day is free to explore.
• COOKING CLASS - We will meet in the lobby at 5:45 for a 5-minute walk to attend a cooking class.
• You will cook your included dinner.

Thursday, July 4th

• After your included breakfast your morning is free. You might enjoy a city walking tour, a tour by electric bike, or a TukTuk. There are 60 port houses near the hotel. 
• At 11:00 am we will meet in the lobby for a LUNCH CRUISE ON A TRADITIONAL RABELO BOAT DOWN THE DOURO RIVER.

Friday, July 5th - After your included breakfast transfer to the airport on your own or maybe enjoy an. extension to Lisbon or Santiago de Compostela or a wine cruise on the Duro. Talk with Debi about pre and post-options.
