Have you always wanted to make decadent Beef Wellington, but have no idea where to start? In this class, you will learn the technique for encasing a beef tenderloin in duxelles (browned mushrooms and shallots), then wrapping it in layers of prosciutto and buttery puff pastry. It is baked until golden and flaky on the outside, and juicy and rare inside. A dish worthy of the most elegant meal, make this one for Christmas, New Year’s Eve or the next big celebration. It is sure to impress! We will make a potato and vegetable side dish and enjoy a classic British dessert. A glass of wine is included with dinner.

Some common questions.

What should I wear? Please wear long pants and flat, closed-toe shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, and high heels are a safety hazard and will not be permitted in any Columbus State kitchens. You will be standing and cooking for the duration of the class. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.

What if I don’t know how to cook? You won't need to have any cooking experience to attend our classes ­— that’s what we’re here for! We offer classes for all skill levels.

What should I expect to experience in class? Everyone who attends a class will receive printed recipes, tasting portions of the food prepared in class, and if applicable, a complimentary beverage. In hands-on classes, you will work in teams of two or more to prepare the recipes.

What if I need to cancel? If you need to cancel your class booking, you can do so up to 48 hours before the class and receive a refund or class credit. If The Mix has to cancel a class for any reason, you will be notified immediately by phone or email and will have the option of switching to another class of equal value or receiving a full refund. If you need to cancel, please contact us at themix@cscc.edu. All class reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis so you are encouraged to sign up early. You cannot receive a refund for any reason after a class has been held. The Mix reserves the right to substitute instructors or modify any class when necessary.
