Perusini is a historic estate located in the Colli Orientali subzone of Friuli, a northern wine-growing region on the border of Italy and Slovenia specializing in the production of lean and mineral-driven white wines. The Perusini family has been an integral part of Friulian viticulture since the early 19th century when Giacomo Perusini resurrected the winemaking practices in the region. Giacomo, alongside his brother Giampaolo, worked tirelessly on the vineyard and in the winery to revive the native grape varietals that up until that point had been mostly disregarded. Giacomo’s wife, Giuseppina handled the business of things, helping bring the wines of Friuli back onto the international market where they belonged. Today, the winery is operated by Giampaolo’s daughter Teresa and her husband Giacomo and their 3 sons.
